Esperanza USA

Esperanza USA is a network of Hispanic Christians, churches, and ministries committed to raising awareness and identifying resources that strengthen the Hispanic community.

For more than 20 years, Esperanza USA’s president, the Rev. Luis Cortés, Jr., has worked to empower the Hispanic community in Philadelphia through Nueva Esperanza, a community development corporation Rev. Cortés and the Philadelphia Hispanic Clergy founded in 1987.

In 2002, Nueva Esperanza established Esperanza USA as its national subsidiary at the first annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Esperanza USA strengthens Hispanic faith-based organizations through capacity-building, operates national programs addressing the Hispanic community’s needs, and works as an intermediary with government agencies.

Together with over 10,000 Hispanic churches and organizations, Esperanza USA has emerged as a leading voice for Hispanics of faith in the nation.

Each year, Esperanza USA organizes and hosts The National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference in Washington, D.C. where close to 700 national Hispanic clergy and community leaders gather for prayer, fellowship and advocacy for the Hispanic community and our nation.
