Industrial Hygiene Building Inspector

REPSG is seeking an experienced full-time Building Inspector to join our Industrial Hygiene/Hazardous Materials Assessment Team. This professional will support Senior Project Managers in the performance of building assessments and site-specific surveys for hazardous materials including: asbestos, lead-based paint, water intrusion and mold, indoor air quality, and OHSA compliance. Job responsibilities will include performance of surveys, collection of samples, direct vendor and client communication, authoring survey and assessment reports, and oversight of hazardous material abatement/remediation projects. The ideal applicant must be comfortable both in the field conducting inspections and oversight, as well as in an office environment for completion of other project management duties. Critical thinking skills are a must. The tasks assigned may vary on a daily basis, which requires someone who can be flexible in performing a variety of duties in order to meet business needs.

  • B.S. in Environmental Science or related field preferred
  • Preferred 1-3 years prior training or work experience conducting industrial hygiene inspections, however, individuals with strong construction experience and good working knowledge of building construction will be considered.
  • Experience with/knowledge of knowledge of pertinent regulations, including OSHA, AHERA, NESHAP and NIOSH regulations preferred.
  • Candidate must have or be able to successfully obtain licensure in the City of Philadelphia as an Asbestos Building Inspector and/or Asbestos Project Inspector as well as OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Experience managing and working with vendors and contractors preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will possess strong communications skills and technical writing skills.
  • Understanding that approximately 50% of time spent will be spent on-site conducting buildings surveys.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring the company to sponsor a visa.
