Industrial Hygiene Building Inspector

REPSG is seeking an entry-level full-time Building Inspector to join our Industrial Hygiene/Hazardous Materials Assessment Team. This professional will support Project Mangers and Senior Project Managers in the performance of building assessments and site-specific surveys for hazardous materials including: asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality, and OHSA compliance. Job responsibilities will include performance of visual inspections, sample collection, survey and assessment data entry and tabulation, and drafting survey and assessment reports. The ideal applicant must be comfortable both in the field conducting inspections of hazardous materials (such as asbestos and lead containing materials), as well as in an office environment for completion of other project related duties. Critical thinking skills are a must. The tasks assigned may vary on a daily basis, which requires someone who can be flexible in performing a variety of duties in order to meet business needs.

Requirements

  1. B.S. in Environmental Science or related field preferred.

  2. Preferred 1-3 years prior training or work experience conducting industrial hygiene inspections. However, individuals with strong health and safety skills or construction experience will be considered.

  3. Experience with/knowledge of knowledge of pertinent regulations, including OSHA, AHERA, NESHAP and NIOSH regulations preferred.

  4. Candidate must have, or be able to successfully obtain, licensure in the City of Philadelphia as an Asbestos Building Inspector as well as OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification.

  5. Ideal candidate will possess strong communications skills, technical writing skills, and digital data management skills.

  6. Understanding that approximately 50% of time spent will be spent on-site conducting buildings surveys around potentially hazardous materials.

  7. Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring the company to sponsor a visa.
